Influencer Marketing Campaign ROI & Profitability Simulator

Calculate net profit, campaign ROAS, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and break-even orders for brand-creator partnerships.

Influencer partnership ROI: ROAS, CAC and break-even sales

The tool starts from the expected views, applies the click-through rate and then the conversion rate to estimate sales, and compares the resulting gross profit with the total cost of the deal (creator fee + product sent). ROI is (gross profit − cost) ÷ cost; ROAS is revenue after discount ÷ cost.

Step-by-step calculation

  1. Total cost = creator fee (excl. VAT) + product and shipping cost.
  2. Visitors = views × click-through rate, rounded; sales = visitors × conversion rate, rounded.
  3. Revenue after discount = sales × average order value × (1 − promo code discount).
  4. Gross profit = sales × (AOV × (1 − discount) − product cost), where product cost = AOV × (1 − margin rate); net profit = gross profit − total cost.
  5. CAC = total cost ÷ sales; break-even = total cost ÷ margin per order, rounded up.

Worked example with the default values

A €1,200 fee plus €80 of product gives a €1,280 cost. 65,000 views × 2.2% = 1,430 visitors; × 3% = 42.9, rounded to 43 sales. 43 × €75 = €3,225, or €2,902.50 after the 10% discount. At a 65% margin on the full price, each product costs €26.25: gross profit is €1,773.75 (€41.25 per order) and net profit about €494, a 38.6% ROI. ROAS is 2.27x, CAC €29.80 and break-even 32 sales.

Assumptions and limits

  • The margin rate you enter is the full-price margin: product cost (€26.25 in the example) does not fall with the discount, so the whole discount comes off the margin.
  • Only sales tracked through the link or code count: no brand lift, repeat purchases or lifetime value.
  • Click-through and conversion rates are your assumptions; no industry benchmark is supplied.
  • An estimate to compare with the campaign's actual analytics.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you calculate the ROI of an influencer collaboration?

ROI = (gross profit generated − total cost) ÷ total cost. With a €1,280 cost and €1,773.75 gross profit on 43 sales, net profit is about €494 and ROI 38.6%.

What is the difference between ROAS and ROI for an influencer campaign?

ROAS divides revenue by cost (€2,902.50 ÷ €1,280 = 2.27x in the example) and ignores the cost of goods. ROI works on margin, so a 2.27x ROAS can still mean a low or negative ROI when margins are thin.

How many sales does it take to break even on an influencer?

Divide the total cost by the margin per order. With a €75 basket, a 10% discount and a 65% margin, each order brings €41.25 (€67.50 collected minus €26.25 of product cost), so 32 sales cover €1,280. The tool always rounds up.

Does the promo code reduce the calculated profitability?

Yes, by its full amount: product cost does not fall with the discount, so every euro of discount is a euro of margin lost. In the example, a 10% discount cuts the margin per order from €48.75 to €41.25 and raises break-even from 27 to 32 sales.
