Pinterest Evergreen Traffic & Affiliate Revenue Estimator

Model monthly outbound pin clicks to your website or blog and calculate passive revenue from affiliate links and ad displays.

Pinterest traffic and affiliate income: how the estimate works

Outbound clicks are impressions × click-through rate; each revenue stream is then applied to those visits: ad RPM per 1,000 sessions, affiliate sales × commission, digital product sales × price. With 450,000 monthly impressions and a 1.6% click rate, you get 7,200 visits and, in mixed mode, about €5,342 a month.

Formulas

  • Outbound clicks = monthly impressions × click-through rate, rounded.
  • Ads = clicks ÷ 1,000 × RPM.
  • Affiliate = round(clicks × conversion rate) × average commission.
  • Digital products = round(clicks × conversion rate) × price.
  • Mixed mode = ads + affiliate + half of digital products. The other modes keep a single stream.

Example with the default values

450,000 impressions × 1.6% = 7,200 outbound clicks. Ads: 7.2 × €16 = €115.20. Affiliate: 202 sales (2.8%) × €18 = €3,636. Digital products: 86 sales (1.2%) × €37 = €3,182, of which half counts in mixed mode, i.e. €1,591. Mixed total: €5,342 a month, €64,106 a year, €0.74 per outbound click.

Assumptions to adjust

  • All default values (click rate, RPM, conversion, commission, price) are editable assumptions, not verified market averages. The benchmarks shown in the interface (1 to 3% click rate, pin lifespan of 4 months to 2 years) are indicative and unverified.
  • Annual income is monthly income × 12: the tool does not model growth, seasonality or falling reach.
  • Each visitor can see ads, buy through an affiliate link and buy a digital product; halving digital products in mixed mode is a convention of the tool.
  • Amounts are gross: no tax, social charges or platform fees.

This is an estimate of potential, not a guarantee of income.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many visits do 100,000 Pinterest impressions bring?

With a 1.6% outbound click rate, 100,000 impressions bring 1,600 visits to your site. At 1% it would be 1,000 visits, at 3% 3,000: the click rate matters as much as reach in the calculation.

How much do display ads earn on a Pinterest-driven blog?

Ad income is visits ÷ 1,000 × RPM. With 7,200 visits a month and a €16 RPM, that is €115.20: ads alone earn little at this volume, while affiliate sales weigh far more in the default example (€3,636).

How is mixed mode calculated?

It adds ads, affiliate income and half of digital product sales. In the default example: €115.20 + €3,636 + €1,591 = €5,342 a month.

What conversion rate should I use for affiliate links?

The tool suggests 2.8% of visitors buying, an assumption to replace with the statistics from your own affiliate programme. Dropping from 2.8% to 1% cuts affiliate income from €3,636 to €1,296 a month (72 sales at €18).
