Vélib' availability in real time: Paris stations near me

Vélib' mechanical bikes, e-bikes and free docks at stations around an address in Paris and Greater Paris, with data refreshed about every minute.

Finding a Vélib' bike or a free dock near an address

The tool lists Vélib' Métropole stations within 300 m to 1 km of an address, from nearest to farthest, with the number of mechanical bikes, e-bikes and free docks. The data come from the open dataset published by the City of Paris, refreshed about every minute.

What the tool shows

For each station in service: its name, its town, its straight-line distance, mechanical bikes, e-bikes, free docks, its capacity and the time it last reported its status. A banner flags a station where rentals or returns are suspended. At the top, the total bikes and docks within the chosen radius.

Example

On 15 October 2026 the dataset listed 16 stations within 500 m of the Hôtel de Ville. The nearest, "Lobau - Hôtel de Ville", 88 m away, had 38 mechanical bikes, 1 e-bike and 19 free docks. Distance is computed between the coordinates of the address and those of the station (haversine formula, Earth radius 6,371 km): it is a straight-line distance, so the walk is longer.

Area covered

Vélib' Métropole only serves Paris and the neighbouring member towns: the dataset listed 68 of them outside Paris on 15 October 2026. For an address outside the Île-de-France region the tool does not call the API and says so.

Limits

  • Figures date from the station's last report, usually a few minutes old at most.
  • A bike shown as available may be broken or taken in the meantime.
  • Stations still being installed are hidden.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I check whether a Vélib' station has bikes left?

Enter an address: for each station within 300 m to 1 km, the tool shows the number of mechanical bikes, e-bikes and free docks. The figures come from the City of Paris open dataset, refreshed about every minute.

How many Vélib' stations are there?

On 15 October 2026 the dataset listed 1,519 stations, 1,517 in service and 2 being installed, spread across Paris and 68 neighbouring towns.

Does Vélib' work outside Paris?

Yes, in neighbouring member towns such as Boulogne-Billancourt, Montreuil, Issy-les-Moulineaux or Argenteuil. Outside the Île-de-France region there are no stations, and the tool says so.

Why is a bike shown in the tool no longer there?

Each station reports its status at regular intervals and the tool keeps the data for at most 60 seconds. A bike may be taken in the meantime, or be broken while still counted as available.
