French lycée bac results: pass rate, honours, value added
Baccalauréat pass rate, honours rate and value added for any French general or technological lycée, from the Ministry's official indicators.
Reading a lycée's results: pass rate versus value added
The raw pass rate is the share of candidates who passed the bac; the value added is the gap, in points, between that rate and the rate expected from the pupils' profile. A lycée with a 94% pass rate and a value added of −3 does worse than comparable schools.
What the tool shows
For a general or technological lycée found by name, town or UAI code, the tool shows the value-added indicators (IVAL) of the latest published session: pass rate, honours rate and the rate of pupils going from seconde (year 10) to the bac, each with its value added, then the breakdown by track, the number of honours and the trend over earlier sessions. The session is always shown, since a session's indicators come out the following year.
Example
Lycée Charles Baudelaire in Annecy, 2025 session: 405 candidates, 94% pass rate against an expected 97% (value added −3), 60% honours, 83% from seconde to the bac.
Limits
- Vocational lycées are not in this dataset.
- No rate is published below 20 candidates, and no value added or honours count below 40 candidates.
- Tracks L, ES and S only appear for sessions before 2021.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a lycée's value added?
It is the gap, in points, between the actual pass rate and the rate expected given the pupils' age, results at the brevet and social background. A lycée with a 94% pass rate against an expected 97% has a value added of −3: it does worse than comparable schools.
Why is my school's pass rate not shown?
The Ministry publishes no rate below 20 candidates, and no value added or honours count below 40 candidates. Vocational lycées belong to a separate dataset and do not appear here.
When are a session's results published?
The indicators come out the year after the exam: those for the 2025 session were loaded in spring 2026. The tool always shows which session the figures refer to.
What does the seconde-to-bac access rate mean?
It is the probability that a pupil entering seconde (year 10) at the lycée obtains the bac there, however many years it takes. It is only calculated for lycées that teach all three years: seconde, première and terminale.
